Summer 2023 sessions start soon! Sign up now!
Meeting online via Zoom
  • Six sessions: June 12, 19, and 26; July 10, 17, and 24.
  • Sessions meet on Monday evenings from 7:00 to 8:00 pm Eastern time.
  • Be ready for Introduction to Prayer Book Hebrew beginning in October, 2023.
  • Video recordings will be available for occasional missed classes.
Goal of the course:  If you want to be able to follow along and sound out Hebrew as it is printed in the Jewish prayer book and the Hebrew Bible, this class is for you. You will learn what you need to know to get more and more fluent as you practice and participate. Once you learn the letters, you will be ready to learn the meaning, starting with Introduction to Prayer Book Hebrew beginning in October, 2023.
Text: We'll use Aleph Isn't Tough, by  Linda Motzkin, supplemented by materials we'll provide. The book is available through Berhman House Press, at Jewish bookstores, and on Amazon.
Instructor: Laura Lee Blechner has taught Hebrew at Mekom Torah for close to 10 years. She is a talented, patient, and kind educator with a devoted following of inspired students.
Tuition: The tuition for this class is flexible, like all Mekom Torah classes. You may simply tell us what works in your budget. Really. No questions asked. For those who can afford it, we ask $100 for this 6 session course.
Pay online, or by mail, here: Tuition Payments.
