Exploring Judaism
Join in any time for deep learning and vibrant discussion.
Meets online via Zoom.
Two sessions each month, on Thursdays from 2:00 to 3:15 pm Eastern time, from September through May, with a break in October for the High Holidays. In each session, Rabbi Helen Plotkin leads an exploration of a topic in Jewish text and thought.
This year, each session will focus on one of the central concepts in Judaism - things like blessing, holiness, freedom, creation, revelation, redemption...
We will discuss the specific ways each concept plays out in Jewish prayer and practice. Then, we will study a sometimes surprising Kabbalistic understanding of the concept, discovering how, in the Jewish mystical tradition, each of these offers a pathway toward connection with the infinite. |
Tuition: This class is offered free of tuition. Mekom Torah is supported by tax-deductible donations; please contribute what you are able. For those who can afford it, we suggest a yearly contribution in the neighborhood of $200 to $360, or whatever is comfortable for your budget.
