Reading with Laura Lee

Continue your journey toward understanding Hebrew.
​Originally designed for alumni of Laura Lee Blechner's Introduction to Prayer Book Hebrew, this class is now a popular alternative to Reading the Tradition in Hebrew with Rabbi Helen. Here's how it's different:
  • It's a little more structured, teaching biblical Hebrew grammar and vocabulary from a text based lens. Before turning to biblical texts, the sessions begin with 15-20 minutes of grammar learning, first through a review of the textbooks Aleph Isn’t Enough and Bet is for B’resheit, then using the next book in that series, Tav is for Torah. This series of textbooks was written by Linda Motzkin, is published by Behrman House, and is available online at Abe Books.
  • It meets less often - two to three times a month instead of every week.
  • The timing is still a bit flexible, depending on the availability of the participants. The first meeting: is set for September 8, 2024 at 7:00pm. If you are interested, but this time does not work for you, please let us know using the form below.

Instructor: Laura Lee Blechner has taught Hebrew at Mekom Torah for close to 10 years. She is a talented, patient, and kind educator with a devoted following of inspired students.
Tuition: This class is offered free of tuition.
