Reading the Prayer Book
|
What do we really say when we pray? If you've already dipped your toe in the water of the Hebrew language, please join us for a deep dive into the Siddur - the Jewish prayer book. In this ongoing study group we will explore the history, meaning, and traditions behind some of the most important prayers. In each session students will read sections of the Siddur in Hebrew, learning translation skills and improving pronunciation. This is your path to rich and fluent participation in synagogue services. No homework! Just be present and learn. Join in any time. We review basic grammar as it comes up in the readings - not to worry if it's not at your fingertips. Every session will be recorded, in case you miss one and want to catch up. Please use the form below to tell us you are interested or to ask for more information. |
