Opening Judaism

If not now, when??

Crack open and look inside the texts, practices, and ideas that are the foundation of Judaism.
Understand their deeper meaning and make them your own.  
All questions are acceptable!


Come for two High Holiday preparation sessions - everybody is welcome:
  • September 10, 2015, 7:30-9:00pm, at Ohev Shalom - Topic: Rosh HaShannah
  • September 17, 2015, 7:30-9:00pm, at Beth Israel - Topic: Yom Kippur
 
Regular sessions meet
Thursdays, 7:30-9:00pm, from October 2015 to May 2016.
Fifteen sessions, one every two-three weeks. Scroll down for calendar.

Location: Alternates between Beth Israel in Media, PA, and Ohev Shalom in Wallingford, PA.

Teacher: Rabbi Helen Plotkin

Cost: Voluntary contributions as you are willing and able.  More info...

Who is this class for?

  • People who are educating Jewish children and yearn for a deeper understanding of what they offer their kids
  • People who are active in Jewish life and want the experience to be more deeply infused with knowledge and tradition
  • People who are beginning their relationship with Judaism and seek an adult understanding of Jewish life
  • People who feel that their Jewish education stopped short of a mature vision of Judaism
  • People who want to understand Jewish rituals and to discover the sources of Jewish traditions
  • Anyone who would like to engage in meaningful Jewish study
